Thobethulani Trading CC Manyiseni Community Library
The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Arts and Culture has invested in the Manyiseni area through the construction of a library as part of efforts to eliminate poverty and encourage a culture of learning in that community. Manyiseni Library is one of the 44 libraries in the province that are benefitting from the Mzansi Libraries Online Project. The size of a library is determined by the number of people who live in the area. Manyiseni Library is located in Ward 15, however it will also serve Wards 16, 17 and 18 which adds up to a combined population of 28 384 people. Nine schools will benefit from it.

The project was a Donation to the community by a Non-Governmental Organisation which rendered it non-profitable to all stakeholders involved ranging from the Professional teams down to sub-contractors that provided services like Plumbing, Electrical Installations, Flooring, Ceilings, Joinery, Air-conditioning and the like. The nature of the project was not different from that of a health facility in that it was built for children with cerebral impairment which then required regular visits and inspections by various government departments to ensure compliance with health national standards during which some installations had to be changed or modified to be in line with all requirements of such facilities. Despite all the challenges that were faced during the construction, this Project was completed timeously.
