YOUTH IN CONSTRUCTION 2009

The National Construction Week of the Department of Public Works focuses on the importance of the construction industry as a national asset and its critical link to skills development, infrastructure creation and service delivery.  Following the success of the 2008 exhibition in Gauteng, the Construction Industry Development Board (cidb), the SA Federation of Civil Engineering Contractors (SAFCEC), the SA Institution of Civil Engineering (SAICE), the Gauteng Master Builders Association (GMBA) and FET Colleges are repeating the initiative of this unique exhibition.  The 2009 Youth in Construction week will compliment the National Construction Week of the Department of Public Works and will be hosted in Gauteng, Cape Town and Kwa-Zulu in 2009.

YOUTH IN CONSTRUCTION 2010

The Youth in Construction initiative is the result of collaboration between Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB), the SA Federation of Civil Engineering Contractors (SAFCEC), the SA Institution of Civil Engineering (SAICE), Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal and FET Colleges in support of the National Construction Week, brought to us by the Department of Public Works.

The 2010 event took place over the period of the 3rd and 4th of August in an open warehouse at the Department of Public Works in Durban and saw over 3500 school learners, pass through its doors.
