ECO House

WINNER: SPEED HEAT PMB - ECO HOUSE

The project was to provide a Granny Cottage addition to a main dwelling for a reasonable cost and  to make the cottage as energy efficient as possible.

Energy efficient LED (not CFLs which contain mercury) lighting was incorporated into the ceiling design. This is run by photo voltaic solar panels and batteries.

Solar water heating for the geyser, with an intelligent Geyserwise controller, and a gas stove kept the electricity load down and no extra amperage was required.

Fernhill Hotel Chapel

HIGHLY COMMENDED: PMB CEILINGS - FERNHILL HOTEL CHAPEL

A steel frame building with a steep pitched roof was erected with conventional walls, doors and windows enclosed in the structure. Our task was to enclose the cromodeck roof sheeting inclosing all purloins & rafters to give a seamless pine looking ceiling.

25mm IsoBoard was fitted using an H Aluminium powder coated profile to support the board and to be able to use the profile to fix the board using the steel purloins as fix points. This was done with a single board from wall to apex replicating a pine ceiling. Specially designed cornice with a 145⁰ angle was designed, supplied and fitted to both apex and wall.
